Gulf Electronics Company was established in 1975 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the UAE, by their excellencies Obaid Al Mazrouie and Awadh Al Otaiba initially as a supplier of electro-mechanical products and subsequently emerging as an agency and distribution company for home appliances and lighting solutions.
From the beginning, GEC has been driven by its dedication to quality, service and customer care excellence and this was a main motivator to diversify further and venture into the distribution and retail of high-end and quality home appliance from world reputed brands.
By 1980, GEC had already gained numerous distinctions for its excellent service and played a major part in the young nation with its growing economy as a trusted and reliable supplier of electrical products and solutions.
In the same year, GEC was appointed by Philips as its exclusive agent for a wide range of consumer electronics, household appliances and lighting products in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain region.
In 1989, GEC became Whirlpool’s exclusive agent in Abu Dhabi & Al Ain when it bought up Philips Major Domestic Appliance Division. Later Bosch Security systems joined as well.

Gulf Electronics Company LLC have established its foot prints and have been instrumental in bringing world class brands in UAE.
The following years saw expansion in business and brands and the merger of its sister concern Gulf Technical Company brought reputable brands such as Siemens Appliances for Abu Dhabi & Al Ain and Frigidaire with distribution rights across the entire UAE into the group.
